FEEDBACK A Telugu Perspective on Indian Union TAMIL TRIBUNE, July 2007 (ID. 2007-07-f1)
I am a Telugu by birth. When I was in ninth class, after reading the Indian History books in school and reading other books out of my own interest, I came to the conclusion that India is a 'made-up' country, in the sense that there was never a country 'India' and what presently exists is just a forcible union of the peoples of different states. One must note that in all state published history textbooks, there are lies about ancient Indian unity. There was never a country such as the current India. I still do not understand the logic as to why Hindi should be the official language of India. Tamil Nadu should pioneer the independence movement from this "Indian Union". Many of the people who support Hindi as official language are, in fact, supporting Sanskrit because Indian constitution specifically wants Hindi to use as much Sanskrit as possible [Reference 1].
