"English is not an international language, only seven countries in the world uses it as official language",
said Mulayam Singh Yadav in 1997 when he was Indian Defense Minister.
Then how can Hindi be the link or official language of India, it is the official language of only three Indian states!
Where is the logic? [EDITOR'S NOTE: A few years after the original
publication of this article, some larger Hindi states were bifurcated to create
more states whose official language is also Hindi.]
